WOW’s Summer School traditionally takes place at WOW’s Weymouth studio in the first full week of the summer holidays with a week of musical theatre and team building activities open to all young performers in school Year 5 or above. Unfortunately, due to various circumstances, we have not had the capacity to run a Summer School since the pandemic. We hope to be able to restart this popular activity at some point in the future.
Those taking part in the week have the chance to:
- Sing, dance and act under the direction of the professional creative team behind WOW’s acclaimed productions.
- Enhance their skills with award winning director/choreographer, Martine Burt.
- Take part in a short performance for family and friends. (Click the relevant year for videos of the 2019, 2018, 2017 and 2016 end of workshop performances to families.)
How to Book
The first step is an announcement on this website and social media pages that WOW is holding a Summer School. There may also be a notice in the show programme for our latest production. Once applications are open, there will be a form below to register your interest and receive a booking form.
Once the form is submitted, applicants should receive an automated reply. (If not seen, this may have been filtered into a spam/junk mail folder.) All information provided is used in accordance with our Privacy Policy for Workshops. Safeguarding and other policy documents can be found on our Policies’ Page. When the Workshops are over we remove the personal information of all non-WOW members from our files.
The Summer School is very popular and we have had to turn people away in the past. We, therefore, advise early booking to avoid disappointment. Places are secured with a £20 deposit per child. The balance is then payable on the morning of the first session. (Prices in 2019 were £80 for the full week and £65 for siblings.)
