Flash mob rendition of One Day More

Wedding flash mob

This August, a group of 14 performers from WOW gave bride and groom, Hannah and Simon Dyer, a big surprise with a flash mob rendition of ‘One Day More’ from the musical Les Misérables.

Group waiting in the rain outside the wedding marquee.

The WOW soloists, Harry Lake, Alex Rogan and Harrison Burley were joined by former members, Maggie Ayles and Shannon Paige with a strong cabaret group chorus. Everyone had been sworn to secrecy as they attended rehearsals with director Martine Burt and WOW’s former musical director, Heather Reed. Also rehearsing their parts were the mother of the bride, Christine Taylor, as Madame Thénardier with her sons Nick as Valjean and Matt as the student leader.

Chris, who is also a WOW trustee, was thrilled with the success of the flash mob which received a standing ovation. She praised the group saying, “The whole thing simply blew me and many others away. Hannah’s reaction was priceless. I couldn’t have asked for more, and you were all just extraordinary!”

The group had to wait outside the marquee in the pouring rain but nothing could dampen their spirits and as Shannon said, “It was a wonderful experience!”
