Virtual Fayre in the Square
WOW entertained audiences online with a 25 minute set at the Virtual Fayre in the Square on Sunday 7 June 2020. Their streamed performance was created from a recording of The WOW Show filmed at Weymouth Pavilion Theatre in November 2019.
Weymouth Rotary have been running this fundraising event since 2014 to raise monies for local charities and causes. (DONATE HERE.)
The decision to hold a virtual event was taken after the annual music event, due to be held in May, had to be cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
WOW Chairman, Alan McKechan, said, “Weymouth Rotary have always given WOW great support so we were delighted once again to take part in their flagship fundraiser. Last year our cabaret group performed on the small stage in Hope Square but this year viewers online got to see all 43 of our talented performers.”
WOW were one of over a dozen musical acts streamed online for the virtual event. WOW performed a selection of nine musical numbers from stage and screen. These included hit songs from The Greatest Showman and Jersey Boys as well as some disco anthems from Priscilla, Queen of the Desert.
