WOW members and volunteers were very excited when Trustee, Mandy Burley, came along to a rehearsal for CATS and presented a cheque for over £2,500, raised from her run in the 2018 London Marathon.
Mandy ran this year’s Marathon to raise funds for WOW and The Front Skatepark. Leading up to the marathon she set up a whole range of successful fundraising events, including an evening of entertainment featuring talented local performers. Both of Mandy’s sons were involved with Toby on guitar in the upcoming band ‘The Undecided’ and Harrison as one of WOW’s cabaret group.
WOW Chairman, Alan McKechan, expressed grateful thanks, saying, “I’m not at all surprised that Mandy completed the hottest London Marathon on record as she demonstrated an incredible drive and determination throughout this fundraising project. I’d like to congratulate Mandy and her supporters for a fantastic fundraising effort, with many enjoyable events, and also to thank Mandy for donating such a significant sum to WOW.”
